Girls trip to West Hollywood

Planning a weekend getaway with your girlfriends is a must!  The priceless memories, the fun and the laughter you’ll have for a lifetime to come.

On July 26th 4 of us jet setted to LAX. Most of the trip was planned but the rest we decided “anything goes”. In most instances it is good to have a plan especially when  resteraunts in larger cities require an RSVP.

We arrived at the airport at 7 am. Are we crazy? Quite possibly but we wanted a full day instead of most of it being taken up with flying.

We headed straight to the Hollywood Roosevelt. One of Hollywood’s premier locations to stay at. It’s a 4.4 star hotel with so much history. Marilyn Monroe famously stayed in this hotel for 2 years!

In 1988, famed British painter David Hockney completed a multi-million dollar mural on the bottom of the Tropicana Pool. Both the hotel and the pool have been designated Historic-Cultural Monuments by the City’s Cultural Heritage Commission. Also recently restored to its original grandeur, the iconic Blossom Ballroom was the site of the first Academy Awards in 1929!

It was such a beautiful place to stay and I loved the old vintage vibe to it!

After dropping off our luggage and changing we headed to Venice Beach! A very cool hipster location and a place to be verrry open minded! I just love seeing the way other people live! It intrigues me.

 Venice Beach

“Known for its bohemian spirit, Venice is a buzzing beach town with upscale commercial and residential pockets. Free-spirited Venice Boardwalk is the site of funky shops, street performers and colorful murals. There’s also a skate park and Muscle Beach outdoor gym. Abbot Kinney Boulevard features foodie hot spots, stylish boutiques and coffee bars. A picturesque enclave of canals is surrounded by modernist homes. “ Source: Google

After Venice we walked to the Santa Monica peer for an early dinner.

Friday was one work for the books! We made brunch reservations for The Beverly Hills hotel (cue theme song from 90210 😉)

The Beverly Hills Hotel

For over a century, The Beverly Hills Hotel has been the spot for Hollywood’s brightest lights, the ultimate beacon of glamour. She greets you like a movie star from the moment you pass the iconic signage, step onto the signature red carpet and enter the grand lobby.

It is seriously such a beautiful and classic hotel! The food and drinks get a 5 star rating in my book!

After brunch we headed to Rodeo Drive! First stop was The Regent Beverly Wilshire! (Reg, Bev, Wil- Kit from Pretty Woman) 😉🌴 How can you say that and not think of that famous movie quote!?

We walked trough the hotel and made it to the rooftop where the Secret garden was located.

For dinner we headed to the iconic  Pump restraunt owned by Lisa Vanderpump. This was my 2nd time being here and I was beyond excited!!! I have been craving their rock shrimp tempura for over a year now!!!

  • As you enter through the majestic gates, topped with burning flames, you feel immediately transported to a magical garden, perhaps in Tuscany or Provence. We have created a space that feels as if you alone have discovered it, as you wonder how on earth you haven’t been here before.”

After walking around Santa Monica and checking out a few local bars (and Ubering for forever- 😂 Inside joke)  we headed back to our hotel lobby where I ran into The Lucas Brothers. You might remember seeing them in the hilarious movie “22 Jump Street”. This is seriously one of mine and my husbands favorite movies!

Saturday was our “free” day and nothing was really planned. We slept in, had breakfast at the hotel restraunt and then walked to a beautiful park!

Afterwards we hung out at the pool party! We had our own personal bed with shade, waitresses and a dj.

I managed to get us in at Hyde which you may have heard of from Keeping up with The Kardashian’s. All I said was we are visiting from Texas and they let us in 🤩 One of the security guards was graciously telling me all about Hyde and how it’s a premier location for stars. Funny that I want to meet Johnny Depp and without him even knowing he told me Johnny comes there often because he’s friends with the Co-owner. He said you can usually find him in the VIP patio. And I actually ended up seeing Blake Griffin inside but was too much of a scardy cat to ask for a photo and the security guard wouldn’t ask for me lol He has a pretty big posse around him.

This trip was one for the books! I wish I could have stayed longer but I will most definitely be back. It was my third time visiting California and I can’t wait to add to my memories. There are obviously things I didn’t share because well that’s what makes the bond of a girls trip 😊💗

You can read our hashtags and try to guess but it’s one secret I’ll never tell 😉

XOXO,

Jenn

Until next time Cali!!  😘🌴
